I only made it to chapter 9 before I found myself zoning out in boredom.
Repetitive, dry dialogue drawing out an already dull plot. Maybe if I had of been more patient a good story might have revealed itself, but the whole point in listening to an audiobook is to relax, and not to raise someone's blood pressure in annoyance! Even January couldn't redeem this book for me!

About 50% too long
My word this DRAGGED. The story is pretty engaging for an “easy read” but it was VEERRRYYYA REPETIVE with way too much unnecessary description. Honestly the book could have been half the length and still conveyed the story perfectly adequately.

Brilliant story, AMAZING narration from January 💯💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽will look for more books read by her👏🏽❤️ i am so glad I ignored the negative reviews and listened to this as its exactly what i like and had me gripped from the very first word! Thank you for an amazing story🤗💯 absolutely LOVED it! January was OUTSTANDING too! I could have listened to a week, 12 hours a day of this book if i could have😊 i have gotten the next book and sooo glad January is the narrator for that one too🙌🏽💃🏻 I could listen to every book read by her, she’s BRILLIANT!💯👏🏽 I see there is 5 books in this series🤗 i will be getting every single one of them for sure!💯💯 infact il just buy book 3 even though im not finished book 2😂 but i KNOW i will love it whatever happens!! Narration lifts decent paranormal thriller
Paranormal is not a genre I would usually chose but I'm a fan of January Lavoys narration so was willing to give it a go. Paranormal element was very eye rolly for me but putting that aside - good character and decent writing, altho lost its pace about 2/3 of the way in but picked up. Impressive narration. Worth a listen as it was included in my subscription and I'll watch for the next in the series to come up on special offer but it's not changed my mind on the genre.

Very good
Really spooky, plus good story along side that. Don't seem to get such spooky books these days. Written very well & read well too. Absolutely love January La Voy. My personal favourite American narrator, she is just a natural reader.

Worth it!
I really enjoyed this book. It was lighthearted and yet held me captivated.

Slow burner
I started the book and couldn’t bear it it was so slow so I stopped listening and moved onto other books. I was out walking and my latest book ended and this was the only one loaded so I started from where I left off. It’s not so bad but the plot’s a bit obvious.

Hooked
I was a bit unsure at first but I got really intrigued by the storyline and then the book finished on a cliff hanger.. which was frustrating because I wanted to know what happened to jessica.. and now I'm on book 4, I'm hooked! loving how all the books follow through from the first one and give more and more away each time .
