Summary

Liz has found refuge in the small fishing village of Tremarnock with her young daughter, Rosie, after her relationship with Rosie's father came unstuck.

Now that she's happily married to village restaurant owner Robert Hart, all seems set for a quiet autumn and merry Christmas. But strangers have bought the local guesthouse and seem to have big plans. Why is he so charming and confident, but she's so frightened? And what are they really doing with the guesthouse?

Lovely book

This is the second book in this series I have read. I love it love it. Has generally a real feel good factor about it which I personally love. (I know not all is feel good) but not going to spoil it for others. I like the way the villagers all rally together. Her descriptions of Cornwall are excellent and just makes me want to go on holiday. I want to move to this town with this community spirit if only ....
The narrator did a fantastic job well done.
I like the way this author has a way of covering very real and sensitive issues but without making the story incredibly sad or depressing or heart wrenching. She weaves a nasty steady path with dreadful incidents but with bundles of hope.
I would thoroughly recommend this book.

Too many woke stereotypes

The author stereotypes Christians as either ineffectual wimps or controlling cultists. The narration is excellent apart from all the Manchester characters having Liverpool accents

Slow start

Bit slow to start with and difficult to get a grasp of the story but when it comes it's good!

interesting and varied storyline that keeps it above Average

modern issues were gently brought in well without being too jarring to what is a “cosy” series read

I liked the way the story has been built on from the first book with characters being developed
High calibre of narration too.

Entertaining

This book was very entertaining if a little predictable. The narrator was excellent gliding between characters no matter whether they were men, women, foreigner or children.
This was a feel good story with a bit more to it.
Thoroughly enjoyable!

oh dear

If you like this genre...which I clearly don't, I am sure you'll love it. It is predictable, extremely irritating, paints all women as non to bright, and needing "a big stwong man to take care of them and pwotect them" yukh... the men...well!! really???
I am not sure what to add, if you can't work out extactly who did what to whom almost after the first chapter, then carry on I am sure you'll love it.
I would have returned it , but I don't want to do that too often in case I get banned, so I stuck it out for 12 hours and 49 excruciating minutes..get my drift?
