Liz has found refuge in the small fishing village of Tremarnock with her young daughter, Rosie, after her relationship with Rosie's father came unstuck.
Now that she's happily married to village restaurant owner Robert Hart, all seems set for a quiet autumn and merry Christmas. But strangers have bought the local guesthouse and seem to have big plans. Why is he so charming and confident, but she's so frightened? And what are they really doing with the guesthouse?

"Burstall has created a little sanctuary, which will have readers eager to book a Cornish holiday as soon as possible...a heart-warming, feel-good novel...." (Bookbag, on Tremarnock)
This is the second book following on from Tremarnock. I think you would be able to read the Cornish guest house without reading Tremarnock first, but it does help you to get to know the characters by reading this first and make the story more enjoyable. The narrator is excellent, she manages all the accents very well. I am waiting for the third book now ! Could also be a successful TV series. If the BBC ever read these reviews.
Comforting, absorbing, compulsive
Georgia Maguire is absolutely wonderful in her reading of the book and the accents of different characters, she most certainly adds to the book, I love her voice and her interpretation.
The book envelopes you and draws you into the characters and their families, making you laugh, cry and feel for them.
A brilliant book I am so sad it has come to an end, please Emma Burstall write some more.
If you like that warm fuzzy feeling, this is your book. The characters came to life. I was right there alongside the cast, in their momemt, in that village....
"Nice story with rich character development"
Took awhile to get into the story but about midway it started to pick up. Excellent performance by the narrator!
