I love audio books and listening to them while I draw or paint. They help to level me and take away the stress while drawing.
Romance, navy medic and connected care worker. The story is good a lot of it taken place during a rescue attempt at an aid camp. I wont say much about it, as its a pretty straight forward Radcliffe romance. I would have given the story more stars except that some of the plot devices seemed rushed and did not fit as well as other Radclyffe stories. If you have not read Radclyffe , I would recommend starting with the Honor series.
I do like the writing of Radclyffe, but the final part of this story was a let down given the synopsis.
The story seemed to be a drama/thriller given the written synopsis, and so I decided to give it a try. Sadly like so many of the lesbian books out there the drama fizzled out and got bogged down by unnecessary erotica. For whatever reason far too many stories seem to be no more than soft porn these days. I know erotica has its place, but I hate it when you read/listen to a book expecting a drama/thriller/western/crime and you end up with it falling into nothing more than the soft porn category.
The synopsis could do with reflecting that it really ends up as an erotic book. I had high hopes for this story returning to the dramatic likes of 'Innocent Hearts' and 'Promising Hearts'. Now those are two books I would love to see make their way onto the Audible catalog.
So for those of us who don't mind a bit of erotica in the story, but hate when that's all a story ends up as, books like these become a real disappointment.
The Weather is not the only steamy presence in this romance ,Sailor Max and the brave aid worker Rachel , manage to find each other even under heavy fire . Radclyfe went above and beyond in the realistic department, I was exhausted just listing to this intense tale of love in the middle of a war zone . I found the action not being in the bed room refreshing , don't panic it wouldn't be a Radclife without that but it was nice not o have sex as the point of focus .
I really enjoyed the audio better than reading it myself. I believe the narrator, her tone, her voice makes all the difference in the world. I am a fan of Abby Craden. And it makes Radclyffe books more enjoyable now with audio. I was tired of Radclyffe same scenario. They meet, they fall in love, they fight because one of them doesn't think she's worthy, they make up and it ends. I think I found with audio, especially , having the right narrator, I appreciate Radclyffe more. A must listen!
"Great book by great author!"
This is the first book with narration by Abby Carden that I've heard. She is very talented and precise.
As for the book, Radclyffe has written another amazing story. This one is set in a very different setting and quickly draws the reader to the new place. Kudos to all.
"Awesome story and great narrator"
Really liked the action in this. Radclyffe never disappoints plus the narrator was great not only with the voices but also the tone she used with the storylines that weren't dialogue.
