Regan O'Riley has just about given up hope that she will ever find a woman into shy, geeky programmers. She yearns for a connection, but can't seem to make the first move. Mel Raines knows all about making moves. After a childhood under the thumb of her alcoholic father, she avoids intimacy by drowning herself in fiery, fleeting encounters with strangers. When Regan and Mel meet in a straight bar, of all places, their chemistry is unmistakable. Before they can begin to explore their new relationship, Mel's world is rocked when a close friend is a victim in a shooting. Regan suggests they take a road trip to escape reality for a little while, and Mel is only too ready to shake things up. Together they embark upon a physical and emotional journey where they discover that breaking free of old habits may be the only way to change your life.

And I am addicted to audio books.
There is better to choose from, much better. Try Sarah Waters or Kristen Zimmer....
"Despite These Problems"
This is the third Meghan O'Brien novel I've purchased from Audible; and the weakest. There are far too many long poignant declarations of love. Both of the protagonists prattle on these endless declarations of self deprecation; making statements that proclaim "I'm not worthy; I'm not worthy. Then there the long detailed play-by-play renditions of rather Vanilla sexual encounters that do little to move the story forward. So I hated it right?
Wait (you just checked my rating) how is I gave this book I hated 4 out of 5 stars? Because Meghan O'Brien did an absolutely great job of creating two likable yet human leading ladies that you have no trouble getting behind and pulling for. The brief snatches of back-story the author supplies are an excellent for providing context into the characters. Their interactions with friends and family likewise offer insight into who Mel and Regan are and how it influences the people they became. The relationship between Regan and her straight friend Adam is a particularly good one.
So though there are plenty of flaws in this narrative; it is still a good story with plenty of sympathetic likable characters. Worth the credit.
"WORTH EVERY MINUTE"
Not only is it eloquently written, but the story is beautiful. Too often, books with lesbian protagonists are clique, tragic, or heartbreaking: "Infinite Loop" shatters this notion. It is cheesy at times, but I enjoyed every moment. It's a modern love story you don't want to miss.
The characterization is remarkable, and the sex is epic.
I am officially giving this book to anyone who asks me how two women can fall in love.. or the all to often question, how two women can have sex.
All around WONDERFUL book. . Must read or listen too. Couldn't put it down. Love it. ...
"Good story, but a little lengthy"
Really good story with a powerful message. Made me think twice about my life. That said, it kind of ran long. Definitely not a story you read in one go. I had to take a few breaks to read other things before coming back to it.
"a lovely story"
I love how you took us through both the main character stuggles and how they got through it. love it!!!
"Great Story...Incredible Narrator"
I have now listened to this book 4 times...each time I love it more! I have listened/read over 200 books in this genre and this one is one of the best...you will not be disappointed with this wonderful book.
I really enjoyed this story. Great character development and a beautiful story. Love doesn't change everything but it can change a lot.
"awesome story line and for once no stupid drama ;)"
this was a great read. for once they didn't create a moral dilemma which brings the reader down.
The story was okay, I did not enjoy it as much partly due to there not being any major action or danger or deceit. I felt it was a slow going story. Both of the main characters over came some emotional issues but there was no suspense. I enjoy a good love story with suspense or twisted conflicting issues. If you are in search of a love story that is easy going and has much love making then this is the story for you.
"Geeks rock !"
Love the story of these two girls and their road trip. Reminds us that those that appear tough are not always and women who seem weak can have a core of steel. Very sexy too as will happen in Megan's books. Nice balance though. Sequel please.
