Summary

Dorothy vive feliz en Kansas con su tía Emm, su tío Henry y su perrito Toto. 

Un día el sheriff se lleva a Toto porque ha mordido a una vecina, la señora Gulch. Pero Toto se escapa y vuelve. Dorothy teme que se lo llevarán otra vez así que decide huir con Toto para buscar una vida mejor en algún lugar del arcoíris. 

Cuando arrepentida decide volver a casa, hay un terrible tornado que les deja caer a ella y a Toto en la tierra de Oz. 

Allí se encuentran a Glinda, el hada buena del Norte que le dice a Dorothy que la única forma que tiene para volver a su casa, es pidiendo ayuda al misterioso Mago de Oz y para llegar a verle tiene que seguir el camino de las baldosas amarillas.
