En la oscuridad de la noche, el corsario negro con dos de sus más fieles seguidores entran sigilosamente en Maracaibo para descolgar el cuerpo de su hermano, ahorcado en la plaza pública por el gobernador Van Guld. En su viaje de vuelta a la isla de Tortuga, en su barco “El Rayo”, para dar un entierro marinero a su hermano el mar, sin buscarlo no le queda más remedio que entablar combate con un barco español al que tras dura lucha apresan. Entre los viajeros se encuentra una duquesa que inmediatamente se enamora del corsario negro en el que ve a un verdadero caballero, aunque todos los demás siempre han visto en él solamente un filibustero.

A pesar de perseguirlo por todo Maracaibo el corsario negro no consigue dar con el escurridizo Van Guld, y en una de estas lides el catalán, uno de sus hombres le informa sobre algo que va a cambiar radicalmente su vida. El corsario es un hombre de honor y cuando da su palabra de algo tiene que cumplirlo, aunque ello suponga romperle el corazón.

Versión abreviada

Clásica y tópica historia de piratas contra españoles en el Caribe, con un corsario de lo más noble y atrevido.
La narración está estupendamente recreada con varias voces diferentes y efectos sonoros.
Lástima sea una versión abreviada, lo cual debería aparecer claro en la descripción del audio (solo se menciona en los creditos finales del relato).
