Not a bad bitesized book

First of all the negatives:

Too much use of profanity

I get it sometimes using fruity language can highlight a point and draw a reader/ listener/ audience in… but I felt it was a technique that was overused when more creative and descriptive language could have been used

The book is short so you’ll need to pay attention and be armed with a pen and paper with this one

The good points

Whilst many books of this genre can be absolutely loaded with padding, this book seems keen to get the practical application off its chest with very little jargon

Great if you’re willing to take on board the points and take action, well worth a spin if your curious

For me it would have been nice to hear more on the benefits of the practical application of the tools described and a few examples - but that’s just me

Worth a spin? - yes 👌

Even if you think you’ve heard it all before, if you’re still looking then you haven’t heard it enough to take action 😉

unnecessary amount of swearing

the first 3 minutes and I've found myself writing this review. so far I've heard the words fuck and shit more than anything else and what's worse is that they are not used for any real purpose. I'm 33 and swear, and even I found this excessive

Too much swearing

A lot of 'f... ', 'b...ch' and 'sh..' words from the very beginning of the book. Read with an angry voice. Not convincing.

Why all the swearing???

I’ve got a potty mouth. But nothing like this. It’s just a huge distraction. Not good.

Good tips, with too much swearing

Good recommendations and skills, presented in an accessible manner. but do we really need this much swearing? I'm not necessarily against swearing, but this really felt excessive, and drastically lowered my enjoyment of the book.

The language added to my anxiety

Turned off after 10 minutes, absolutely no need for the bad language. I actually quite enjoy swearing but only ever use it in the correct context. This was swearing for swearing sake.

Cursing caused me stress and anxiety

For someone writing about coping skills, I'd have expected them to realise that some people may have an almost ptsd-like reaction to cursing. Listening to the book was very counterproductive as, compared to what I may have gained from it, the stress from listening to it was not insignificant.
