Excellent Book To Help You Stop People Pleasing!
I absolutely appreciate the author's thoughtful approach to helping individuals set boundaries and develop the mindset/personality to stop 'people pleasing.' This book has taught me that it's okay to say no (without explaining) or feeling a tremendous amount of guilt about it.
It's also a practical guide that will help you cultivate essential self-care routines that will help build your confidence and allow you to speak up for yourself and do what you truly desire. It opened my eyes to how those closest to you (namely family members) tend to guilt-trip you by sheer manipulation. The book provides the tools and valuable resources to help you overcome these feelings head-on. If you struggle with people-pleasing, this book will help you set boundaries and take the right steps to finally say 'no.' I highly recommend it!

Great guide
My friend is a people pleaser and he can feel super guilty, and often, when he forces himself to choose to do what he wants. He's getting better, but still needs some help and this audiobook is perfect. He's already said it made him stand up for himself once this week. Would recommend.

Recently I had been looking for a book on this specific topic, and this one fell into my lap! Are you a people pleaser, did not disappoint! Freddie obviously knows what he is talking about and has done his research. Probably my favorite part was the FQA at the end!!

Look after yourself first
I didn't realise this was what was going on with my friend until I listened to this audiobook. She never says no to any request and she ends up being unhappy and completely stressed out and she just can't help herself. As it was rightly said in this book, it is an addiction, a lack of assertiveness and trying to get validation from others before you can live your life. I will be sending the link for this book to her so she can get a copy for herself.
This book walks us through the behaviours to watch out for in yourself, how to discover who you are, how to say no without guilt, how to set boundaries, and how to surround yourself with the right people and build your confidence. It's a blessing to have a big heart but a curse to not take care of it. I can definitely recommend this book.

"Learn to say "NO" for your self."
Saying "NO" to something that costs you is the major thing that everyone should know. It's OK to accept everything from your beloved one, but you should learn how to say "NO" when it comes to your emotions and self-respect.
In this book, the writer guides you on how not to let your personality down for someone's benefit.

Wow I didn't expect this book to know me so well
I have always been a people pleaser and I know it, my fear of keeping everything cool has let me to resent every girlfriend I have had. I started to understand through epictetus that it all comes from caring too much about what other people think and I want to be liked. This book not only gave some of the psychological reasons for people pleasing (it rang eriely true) but some excellent techniques to unlearn what you have learned step by step.

Ah-mazing information!!!
This book is ON POINT from start to finish. It helped me put things in perspective about how I operate in my own life and with others. I used to think I was a "people pleaser" from a young age, but I now realize that, although I may have some qualities that lend to overindulging others, I'm overall balanced. But still, I need to work on assertiveness with others and speaking up for how I truly feel. Taking the sociotropy test helped a lot, and I have a better idea of what I'll focus on to make my life more balanced.
The author has SO many excellent and thought-provoking quotes in this book. A few that resonated with me are:
"No is a complete sentence."
You're not responsible for how others feel".
It's a blessing to have a big heart but a curse to not take care of it".
"People pleasing is an addiction."
One of my major takeaways is that I need to fill my cup first and then give from the overflow. Too often, we offer gas that we don't even have in our own cars, and we end up stranded and frustrated!
This book came right on time, especially going into the New Year. Everyone should read this book because either you have some of these tendencies or know someone who does!
Four thumbs up!

Very Glad to Gain this Knowledge
This is a good insight into a behavior that is common, yet undetected by many. Sociotropy or people pleasing may seem like a normal part of human nature. This book makes the case quite convincingly of how the patterns of behavior are truly harmful to one’s self and lead to problems in relationships and personal development.
I can name many in my life that suffer from the issues in this book and now I can more clearly see why. They struggle with losing their self esteem, incapability of assertiveness, and obsession of others’ opinion of them.
If someone cannot recognize and change then, life will pass them by and before long it will be too late. Time is too valuable in life to live in a self-effacing, life denying pattern. This book can help guide you to more personal strength, well being and peace of mind.
