Summary
Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is summoned to deliver an evening lecture in the U.S. Capitol. Within minutes of his arrival, the night takes a bizarre turn. A disturbing object - artfully encoded with five ancient symbols - is discovered in the Capitol Building. The object is an ancient invitation, meant to usher its recipient into a long-lost world of hidden esoteric wisdom. And when Langdon's mentor Peter Solomon - prominent Mason and philanthropist - is kidnapped, Langdon's only hope of saving Peter is to accept this invitation and follow wherever it leads him. Langdon finds himself plunged into a clandestine world of Masonic secrets, hidden history, and never-before-seen locations...all of which seem to be dragging him toward a single, inconceivable truth.
The Lost Symbol is exactly what Dan Brown's fans have been waiting for...his most thrilling novel yet.

thoughtful
I've believed in this theory of power of our thoughts ages ago and yes, Dan Brown has explained my belief in his own words and that was brilliantly proposed.

strong start but weak ending
started great and built tension. however, the ending / resolution of the story was unfortunately disappointingly simplistic.

always enjoy a Robert Langdon story
I always enjoyed these stories and have listened to this book a few times. I have found myself returning after watching the new TV show, but the book is more realistic

The Lost Symbol review
I’ve enjoyed Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, but as no third film I thought I would read the book. I’m pleased I did!
Lots of twists, unexpected happenings entwined with religion, mysticism, and a good pace to the story too. And such evil in the heart of it too! I drive for 2hrs a day so great to keep me occupied on route!

Great book I have listened to it twice, highly recommend. Not just the story but the research into the facts of the story.

Loved it
I absolutely loved it, great story and it's so far the only one in the series where I haven't seen the film first so I think that helped me even more! there are twists and turns and the ending I didn't see coming

Educational
Well narrated with a good story line. Educational and in some cases, believable. Good listen.
