Shoba Narayan is the author of six books. She has been a journalist and columnist for over 30 years, writing about food, culture, relationships, travel, spirituality and experiences for global publications including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Condé Nast Traveler, The National, Financial Times, Destinasian, The Atlantic, Gourmet, Time, Quartz, and a number of airline publications among others-- winning a James Beard award and Pulitzer Fellowship in the process. She has taught and lectured at universities in India and abroad. She founded and co-created two websites: Project LooM, about textiles traditions of India, and Jewels of India: about Indian jewellery. She is the host and anchor of Bird Podcast: about birds and nature, listed by Audubon magazine as fourth among the “Top Ten Birding Podcasts in the world.” She has been a radio commentator for National Public Radio (US) and Radio New Zealand. She has a Master’s Degree in Journalism from Columbia University
