I grew up in a suburb of Chicago and now live in a little village in northern Michigan. When I was in the third grade, I knew I wanted to be a writer, but it has been a long and circuitous path to get there. I've lived in several states (and traveled in all of them), and, as well, I've lived in Turkey and Greece, and traveled widely in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. I've been a teacher, a wife, a stay-at-home mom, a librarian and, finally, a published writer. CHILDREN OF THE CATASTROPHE is my most recent book, coming out September 6, 2022. It is a story, set in the early 20th Century, about family, love and loss, and courage and survival. My earlier book, MR. ROCHESTER, is the story of the strange, sometimes imperious and sometimes playful, man that Jane Eyre falls in love with. It is probably no surprise that I write books that I would like to read. As Toni Morrison wrote: "If you really want to read a book but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it."
