Robert Duncan's first novel, "Loudmouth," is coming Oct 6, 2020, from Three Rooms Press. Duncan was a writer for Creem, before becoming, at 22, managing editor, working alongside his friend Lester Bangs. He is author of "The Noise: Notes from a Rock ‘n’ Roll Era," an exploration of pop and society in the Seventies, "Kiss," a satirical biography, and other nonfiction books. He has contributed to Rolling Stone, Circus, Life and dozens of publications and is anthologized in "Springsteen on Springsteen." He was story consultant, as well as interview subject, for the upcoming documentary, "CREEM: America's Only Rock 'n' Roll Magazine" and appears in "Ticket to Write," the documentary about the “Golden Age of Rock Music Journalism.” He has worked as a singer, songwriter and producer, and is founder of the 30-year-old advertising and design agency Duncan Channon and its Tip Records subsidiary. Born in Sheboygan, WI, he comes from a Southern family, grew up in New York and lives with his wife, the artist and photographer Roni Hoffman, near San Francisco. His great-grandfather, as editor of the Memphis Commercial-Appeal, won the Pulitzer Prize for editorials against the Klan.
