Michael Matthews spent over 20 years as a police officer in London, including 14 years in Specialist Operations and 8 years at Scotland Yard. He is the writer of "American Ruin", "We Are The Cops" (a non-fiction number one bestseller - kindle), and "The Riots". He regularly travels across the United States to study US policing and American sub-cultures, and is regarded as a UK and US policing expert, appearing on radio and television across the world. He was also a regular contributor to News Corps, "Heat Street". Michael now lives in Canada, but continues to spend time working with police departments across America.
