Michael Gates is a logophile, a professional copy editor, and a compulsive blogger (at michaelgates.blogspot.com). He grew up in the wilds of upstate New York and, after several lengthy and picaresque chapters in New York City and New Jersey (long story), now lives in Western New York State with his wife and son. He has written and published non-fiction and poetry, but most of his current literary efforts bend in the direction of short-short stories, also known as microfiction (mike-rofiction?). "The Word I'm Thinking Of" is his first book.
