Melanie is a South African writer and artist. She wrote and illustrated her first children's poetry book at the age of 7. It was a gift to her mother titled: "Bugs in the Flower Garden". Since then she studied Drama at the University of Stellenbosch, wrote numerous stage productions and Arts festival texts, painted on a few walls, sewn a few costumes and traveled around the world. The vibrant character met one of her favorite authors once and didn't recognize the author until Mel passionately started speaking about their book - it was a facepalm kind of moment.
