Over the last fifteen years, writer and performer Marcus Reeves has carved his own niche in London’s performance scene, with incarnations as an actor, drag queen, singer songwriter and performance poet. His show 'Postcards from God - The Sister Wendy Musical' has been presented at Jermyn Street Theatre in London's West End and at Hackney Empire Studio Theatre, with its Concept Cast Recording receiving airplay from Elaine Paige and Graham Norton on BBC Radio Two. As part of London's alternative cabaret circuit he has performed alongside such luminaries as David Hoyle, Dickie Beau and Jonny Woo, sung in Our Lady J’s gospel choir at Soho Theatre and supported RuPaul’s Drag Race star Adore Delano at The Meth Lab. Through Southbank Centre's Voicelab, he has performed with Mercury Music Prize winners Elbow, jazz improvisation icon Bobby McFerrin, beat boxer Shlomo and UK jazz legend Ian Shaw in choirs led by Dom Stichbury, Laka D and Mary King. More recently, he joined a star studded celebration of David Bowie at Union Chapel which also featured Glen Matlock, David McAlmont, The Magic Numbers and Dan Gillespie Sells of The Feeling. His critically acclaimed debut solo album 'Quicksilver - The Masquerade Macabre' is available now from all good digital outlets and as a collector’s edition CD from the Reeves Corner shop. His YouTube chat show Behind the Mask celebrated 70 episodes and is also available as a podcast with extra unaired material. His channel MarcusReevesTV is part of the popular WOWPresents Network. Marcus has performed at venues and festivals across the UK including: Royal Vauxhall Tavern, The Cochrane Theatre, Rich Mix, Birmingham Pride, The Cockpit Theatre, Phoenix Artists Club, Leicester Square Theatre, Purcell Room, Royal Festival Hall, Charing Cross Theatre, St Davids Hall (Cardiff), Secombe Theatre, Bethnal Green Working Mens Club, Madame JoJo’s, The Black Cap, Glasgow School of Art, Summer Rites, Soho Theatre, HowTheLightGetsIn, Hill Street Theatre (Edinburgh), Chats Palace, Hackney Empire Studio, Contact (Manchester), Lion & Unicorn, Chelsea Theatre, Stanley Halls, Rosemary Branch, Earl Haig Hall, The Troubadour, Drill Hall, Twentieth Century Theatre, Junction (Cambridge), London Pride.
