About the Author Karen Shughart is the author of the maritime-themed Edmund DeCleryk cozy mystery series (Cozy Cat Press). All books in the series have historical subplots and recipes prepared by the sleuth's wife, Annie, head of the local historical society who also assists her husband in solving the crimes. Karen also is a co-author of two additional Cozy Cat mysteries, and the author of two non-fiction books. She is a member of Crime Writers Association of the UK, North America chapter; FLARE ( Finger Lakes Authors and Readers Exchange); AllAuthor; Hometown Reads; and Rochester Reads. Murder at Freedom Hill, book three in the series, is the first-place Firebird Book Award winner in the mystery category for 2023, and the third-place winner in fiction.
