Jim McGinnis is a native Floridian, residing in Melbourne for all of his 63 years. He and Kay, his wife of 40 years, have 2 children and 6 grandchildren. He has been teaching, coaching, and writing for nearly four decades. Jim's most recent work is "Sabal Palm," a compilation of poetry and stories—much of which he's written over the past two years. You will find reflections, musings, and writings from the ragged but ever-growing collection of this old Floridian. McGinnis is also the author of "Tending To The Past--Reflections of an American History Teacher." He has also published a collection of poetry, "Points South," and his first children's book, "Good Dog Loose" --a collaborative effort with artist and friend, Tamara Fernandez. The author has also published over 40 episodes on his podcast, called "Stories We Can Tell," (anchor.fm/jim-mcginnis), and he's posted many video readings on Facebook and YouTube. McGinnis spends much of his free time outdoors, preferably with family by the water. He loves kids and dogs; oaks and palms; beaches, boats and baseball.
