A brilliant story from Mr MacBride, as always, but goodness did he rush through it. I thought I'd set my player on double speed. His almost breathless narration very nearly spoiled the experience for me. Very nearly, but not quite. His characterisations were wonderful, Logan as always getting the sharp end of the stick, Steele at her acidic best, and I just wanted to punch Finney in the mouth. The secondary story had me wincing with embarrassment on Logan's behalf and Rennie's 'Sperminator' had me not touching handrails for weeks afterwards. Well done, Stuart. Another winner, but please, slow down next time, eh? My ears can't listen as fast as you read :-D

Oh why does Stuart not read more of his own books. He is beyond brilliant. The story is hideous and will turn your stomach then have you belly laughing. Oh please i can't hear this it is so horrible, then how has he made this so funny.

I can't actually capture how much I admire the writing. so well researched and so puerile at the same time. Fantastically hate-able characters.

If you like hard hitting cop drama there is no better.

Stuart PLEASE narrate more of your books. You really make a good story.... Brilliant

I sometimes use talking books on my IPOD to help me get to sleep! This was completely impossible with Blind Eye - it completely held my attention, whether through some of the more graphic scenes or through the hilarious character of DI Steel. I love the way Stuart McBride narrates his work - he is very good at illustrating his books in an entirely natural and authentic-sounding way. It's also great to have a main protagonist, in DS Logan McCrae, who isn't the archetypal 'failure as a father, alcoholic loser' of a detective and who is actually likeable! This is the second unabridged Logan McCrae novel I have listened to from Audible and I can't wait for the next!

Its so fast and annoying, its impossible to follow- i have no idea what's going on because unless you concentrate really hard the sentences just shoot by. urgh, bring back steve worsley!

narration unbearably fast

I almost didn't buy this book because many had criticised the narration. It's true that the author Stuart MacBride doesn't do as good a job as the regular narrator. And the first few chapters are read poorly - too rushed and emphasis in the wrong place. But to give Stuart credit he gets in gear and most of the book is pretty well read.

While I'm glad that the regular narrator returns for book seven, I'm now looking forward to listening to book six without being as concerned as I was when I started this one.

Stuart can't do a Mancunian accent though, it just sounds scouse.
