The Drenai King is dead - murdered by a ruthless assassin. Enemy troops swarm into Drenai lands. Their orders are simple - kill every man, woman and child. But there is hope.

Stalked by men who act like beasts and beasts that walk like men, the warrior Waylander must journey into the shadow-haunted lands of the Nadir to find the legendary Armour of Bronze. With this he can turn the tide. But can he be trusted? For he is Waylander the Slayer. The traitor who killed the King...

it would seem i need to say more or it won't let me say anything. Well worth buying and will be a book I'll listen to a lot. I have read all of his work and now am really happy I can listen to them at work or when walking the dog or even just sitting. It's sad that he died to soon and we will never get a new work from an author I love above all others.

amazing. It's all I need to say.

OK 3 book's in now & I'm getting used to his writing etc. I am on to book 4 now, see how we go?
Oh yeah, another good book a bit more twisty winding but I do enjoy his writing.

... now I have to listen to all the other books in the series (so entertaining). Well I don't really as this is a complete story. None of that find out what happens in book 2, 3, 4 that is so common now days.

Gemmell given the narration it deserves. Loved these books for years and hearing them on Audible, with such a perfect narrator, takes them up another notch (which I didn't believe was possible).

I listened to this book as I had purchased it as part of an offer. The first two books in the series having underwhelmed me, I didn't have high expectations of this one.
But I was pleasantly surprised and happy to be wrong. The characters are better developed and more textured than before, the story tighter and better constructed. An enjoyable listen.
