The 27th installment in the UK's Bestselling Horror Series. The 27th installment in the UK's Bestselling Horror Series. When a deadly infection spreads across Europe, supermarket manager Howie’s ordinary life is thrown into chaos. As the world crumbles around him, he teams up with his autistic best mate, Dave and a ragtag group of misfits to face an enemy unlike any other—the undead. But this isn’t just any infection. It evolves. It learns. And it’s getting smarter every day. Howie soon learns that nothing is quite what it seems - and neither is he.

With fast-paced, blistering action, The Undead series follows Howie and Dave and their unlikely friends as they become the only hope for humanity pitted in a race against time to stop the infection before it becomes clevererer than them. Which honestly wouldn't be that hard.

The Undead has grown to become an iconic British series, redefining zombie horror with rich, unparalleled characterisation—seldom seen outside of literary fiction. But The Undead becomes far more than a zombie story. This is a tale of loyalty and friendship, of how we bond and how far we will go for the people we love. Its catchphrases have become part of everyday language for its readers, and its razor-sharp humour reflects the stupidity and greed of humanity, while still offering hope that we can rise above and do the right thing.©2024 R.R. I love his books and the series as always the writing and performance is the usual great standard.

Like many others though this new “series” is way to short with no real explanation for the change. In terms of this book the characters are written well but fail really at all yo progress the story at all. Like the last 3 books it fleshes out characters and back story but nothing has been progressed story wise since “the heat” his last long title.

Tldr its written well but feel it could be missed and it would not affect the story moving forward

Good however…

I was a little jarred when we were introduced to a new group but the characters really grow on you and if you stick with it you will hear hints of links to other characters as part of the wider story. Set from the beginning of the outbreak, we follow a group that make great use of the city of Winchester and its resources, without a knowledge of or access to the weapons that the main group have. It also reminds us how people change when they have to variant strain of the virus.

There is a great battle coming and various players that we know will be drawn into the fight, we already know Howie and Henry's groups are heading to Winchester so I am really excited for Audiobook part 28.

Love the new group

I feel cheated - nothing to do with the previous boooks(3 hours in) and a mediocre new story/characters.... I was a huge fan... now I'm not sure I'll stay on this trip.

Had to stop listening
