It starts almost by accident: the women who buy their knitting needles and wool from Georgia Walker's little yarn shop linger for advice, for a coffee, for a chat and before they know it, every Friday night is knitting night.

And as the needles clack, and the garments grow, the conversation moves on from patterns and yarn to life, love and everything. They may be different ages, from different backgrounds and facing different problems, but they are drawn together by threads of affection that prove as durable as the sweaters they knit.

wish I had loved it but sadly not really. it didn't have a great deal to it.

Good story but sad ending. The narrator's chapters don't match Audible's, which is annoying. And her Scottish accent is terrible but apart from that, an easy listen. Especially if you like knitting.

Easy going listening...until the end

A real change from what I usually read. However, the more I got I to it the better it was. I can imagine this being a real life story, loved the way it weaved through life , all around a knitting club. Great idea x

This story is so different

I wasn't expecting anything nearly as dimensional or rich in details, however, this book was wonderful.
Packed with plenty of twists and turns, characters with their struggles and lives running a long the main story.
Giving splashes of colour, adding diverse and interesting flavours too.

Spoiler... Alert
I had already guessed the ending and I don't think it diminished the story or my enjoyment of this book at all.
I unapologetically sat in floods tears as the story unfolded. I greatly admire the care and attention given by Kate Jacobs, the author. The sensitivity she showed in writing about such a difficult subject turned a good book into a great book for me.
The narrator dived in and out of each character with ease, adding small details to the voices of each character enriching the whole experience for me...

Friendships and love and laughter and tears and knitting. What’s not to love? Wish I could find a knitting club to find such comradeship
