Another day, another mission for...the King’s Watch.

Conrad needs a rest. The universe has other ideas.

He had planned the perfect weekend in the English Lake District - tie up some loose ends before spending the night with his girlfriend. Simple. What could possibly go wrong?

Everything is the answer. An innocent man is murdered to cover up magickal misdeeds, and before they can draw breath, Conrad and his partner in magickal crime-fighting, Vicky Robson, are on the trail of a mage who hides behind dark magick to kill at a distance.

In the third book of Mark Hayden’s highly praised King’s Watch sequence, superbly narrated by Ciaran Saward, Conrad and Vicky have to unlock doors and penetrate the ancient families of the Lakeland Particular to unmask a killer with an agenda of vengeance, who doesn’t care who dies on the way.

Well worth continuing with this series, they seem to get better and better.
Can’t wait for the next one

Great book

While the momentum of previous books carries the over arching plot, i spent most of this book wondering why things were happening. A lot is left unexplained.
Aside from this Mina is the most utterly unlovable character ever written. Perpetually whiny, entitled and completely insufferable. Shes crow-bard into the story like an uninvited guest at a family gathering. I worry about the author's relationships with women. I hear she is more prominent in future books and I'm worried

Fun series, not the best one.

I live in the area where most of the action takes place and enjoy the comments on the hotels and places to eat most if not all of which exist. As for the action I could, with a little more evidence, believe the rest of it it to be true! Really enjoying this series can't wait for the rest of the series to be released on audible.

So close to home.

I've got this ebook as well. Ciaran Saward's reading of the 11th is excellent, his voice goes well with the character of Conrad.

Another brilliant story
