Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before

The audiobook of Reaper Man is narrated by the BAFTA award-winning actor Sian Clifford (Fleabag; Vanity Fair; Quiz). BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.

'Inside every living person is a dead person waiting to get out.'

Death has been fired by the Auditors of Reality for the heinous crime of developing...a personality. Sent to live like everyone else, Death takes a new name and begins working as a farmhand. He's got the scythe already, after all.

And for humanity, Death is just...gone. Which leads to the kind of chaos you always get when an important public service is withdrawn. If Death doesn't come for you, then what are you supposed to do in the meantime?

You can't have the undead wandering about like lost souls-there's no telling what might happen. Particularly when they discover that life really is only for the living...

The Discworld novels can be listened to in any order, but Reaper Man is the second book in the Death series.

The first book in the Discworld series-The Colour of Magic-was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

Eleştirmen yorumları

'If you're an established fan, you'll enjoy this as much as the others; if you're new to Pratchett, what the hell took you so long?'
'One taste, and you'll scour bookstores for more'
'Pratchett's humour takes logic past the point of absurdity and round again, but it is his unexpected insights into the human morality that make the Discworld series stand out'

Never one of my favourites from the discworld but still brilliantly read by Sian Clifford. I’m really looking forward now to the next book, one of my favourites.

Another great listen

It's a brilliant story and I enjoyed listening to it but I think Bill Nighys talent is wasted here by reading one or two lines of footnotes a few times in the book

A great story

Its very hard to ruin a Pratchett novel but audible have done their very best by having all the Stephen Briggs disc world novels re read. The little magic sounds and footnotes are probably the worst.

Great story, preformed well enough if you don't know any better.

Absolutely loved this reading of one of my favourite Terry Pratchett books. The dance segment was so good I listened twice. A mixture of hilarity, observation and pathos. but please edit out those annoying dingly asides. they add nothing to the enjoyment of the story.

magnificent

As excellent as ever, with narration that brings the story to life. And Peter Serafinaowicz's voice says so much, with so few words.

Brilliant
