To Porterhouse College, Cambridge, famous for rowing, low academic standards. and a proud cuisine, comes a new Master, an ex-grammar-school boy, demanding Firsts, women students, a self-service canteen, and a slot-machine for contraceptives. There is considerable opposition to this challenge to the established order, in the form of Skullion, the intransigent porter at Porterhouse, who is determined that the hallowed traditions of the College will never change.©2014 Audible, Inc. This made me giggle out loud, and had some excellent characters and bizarre situations. A must for any red-brick enthusiast, or someone who just wants to hear about condoms floating out of a chimney! Funny characters, clever skits and well worth a listen. Very well read as well, the voices were perfectly captured.

Witty and sparkling

probably a bit dated for some tastes but listen with a comprehension of the past and a bygone age and you will laugh out loud...

Good naration, which carried the story. None of the characters are likable, which made it difficult to care much about them. seemed like it should be going somewhere but nothing really materialised. Some humorous moments, the original method of destruction was entertaining.

little disappointing

I loved Griff's portrayals and it was great to be reminded of this wonderful tale, which had me laughing out loud.

Griff and the story are an ideal combination
