This sequel to Tom Sharpe's classic comic novel Porterhouse Blue takes the listener back to the hilarious goings-on at Porterhouse College.

The instinct of the true Porterhouse man faced with a crisis is to reach for the bottle and then to fall back on the subtle tactical skills honed at Cambridge down the centuries: blackmail and kidnap. But will these be enough? Menaced on all sides - by the collapse of the Chapel, by the tentacles of organised crime, and by the hovering threat of the abominable Dog’s Nose Man - will Porterhouse be forced to unleash the most fearsome weapon in its armoury - the college food?

A hilariously crafted story read by a hugely talented individual. I can’t recommend Tom Sharpe or the Narrator Jonathan Cecil highly enough.

Nowhere near the giddy heights of Porterhouse Blue, this was something of a slog. a great performance helped but too much time was sent with the American gangsters and there felt like a lot of padding.

I find these stories absorbing and enjoyable. I would recommend them to anyone. Although this one is a spinoff of porter house blues you don’t have to read or listen to that one first.

Having been a Tom Sharpe fan for some time, but especially his first five Noe’s including those Riotous Assembly, Indecent Exposure, The Throwback etc, however, I found this offering somewhat disappointing, almost as if the author was trying too hard, as if to shock with the overuse of the f word (which doesn’t bother me) rather than the use of humorous writing.
The story was weak, not once did I laugh out loud, whereas his early efforts have me rolling with laughter.
Shame as I was really looking forward to a good laugh

Sharpes writing seemed rather blunt!

A great way to revisit my reading as a younger man. I used to enjoy reading Tom Sharpe novels and wondered if the experience would be much different with an audio book. I loved it!!

Classic Room Sharpe!
