Some doors aren't meant to be opened....

While many on Earth grow fearful of the Messengers' remarkable powers and others lament a lack of interplanetary cooperation, two discoveries threaten to turn the world on its head.

One find could simultaneously rewrite the history of two planets; one revelation could tear Dan McCarthy's life apart.

With the stakes higher than ever following the birth of his daughter Piper - a child like no other with a secret the world isn't ready to handle - Dan will do whatever it takes to protect his family.

But as keen as Dan is to help the Messengers at every turn, he might soon come to see that no good deed goes unpunished....

It has quite a focused narrative, it's not the kind of book with 6 subplots going at once. For some people that may be a criticism but I'm comfortable with it. At times the writing and the narration can feel robotic which helped get you in the headspace of the main protagonist. At times it feels unnecessarily clunky but there are some great moments too, especially around the dialogue.

The narrator does a great job giving each character their own voice as well as having a distinct narration voice.

Although I can sympathize with the criticisms I've seen in reviews, I still really love this series. Normally I listen to a couple of different books before returning back to the series but this one has got me hooked and I went straight to book 5

Not perfect but still loving this series

A lot of stuff gets repeated throughout the book, it's OK but gets a bit boring hearing the same stuff over and over again. Good performance from the reader. Overall a good continuation of the story.

Good continuation of the story

This book is by far the best of the series, you won't be disappointed! I think because it is a bit shorter than the others, the story was better.

Best so far in the series!
