Not all terrorists are driven by religion or politics.

Dan "Spider" Shepherd and his SAS team are on the trail of a terrorist whose motives are much more personal. Sabit Kusen wants revenge and doesn’t care how many innocents he kills along the way. Shepherd and his team hunt their quarry around the world - from Athens to Paris to Zurich to Singapore and on to Sydney - but the elusive Kusen is always one step ahead of them.

Can Shepherd catch Sabit Kusen before he carries out his most audacious attack? And does he have what it takes to pull the trigger to end the fanatic’s reign of terror?

This is the first form in the Dan (Spider) Shepherd series. Based on the earlier books in this series, this was a much more detailed and a multi- layered story following the British SAS all over the world in an attempt to disrupt a super threat to eradicate a population, hidden in chaos and confusion.

The female interest, Amy is a brilliantly evolved character and should be a fork in her own right. There are several directions to take her character and I am sure Amy and Dan will meet again in the future.

I thought the book was good in the sense that it was slow paced and maybe even boring at times, but so is life in the SAS sometimes. It's not all exciting missions and what not.

It takes you on an international trip that is very far fetched but you can enjoy the different details about the places.
But rather than him putting so much time in the research of the places, I would have rather had stronger character development and relationships and more intriguing story.

It was a decent read but not nail biting

Great to go back in time with Spider and listen to one of the older books. Fantastic and engaging as always

Engaging from the start

I love Stephen Leather and the adventures of Spider , listen to all the books but at times found this story a little far stretched, I guess that’s the author using his artistic license 😉
Couldn’t fault the excellent narration by Paul Thornley.

Not the best 😢
