Former marine Cas Mathews has one goal - catch the serial killer terrorizing the Rocky Mountain National Park. That's until the sexy ranger Alta Johnson appears to collaborate on the case. Alta's natural beauty catches his immediate attention, but the strength behind her fierce gaze is what holds him captive - demanding he learns more about her.

Alta Johnson is determined to escape the violent memories of her past. When several women go missing pieces of her past emerge in the abduction scenes and evidence making her wonder if her past and the killer are somehow connected. When the FBI arrives to offer assistance Alta finds her walls crumbling for the alpha, brooding agent, Cas Mathews.

As the team zeros in, the serial killer shifts focus putting everyone in danger. Cas swore he would protect her but with the clues carefully hidden, can he figure it out before Alta disappears for good?

Brilliant storytelling right from the get go. I was absolutely glued to me earbuds. Great twists and turns kept me guessing wrong. The fruity bits were 🌶️🌶️🌶️ and the narrators did a fabulous job. I’m straight into the next one now to find out about Chandler. I’m looking forward to it 😏😘

Loved it 🥰

I love crime dramas on TV and this book read out like one (I listened to the audiobook with Maxine Mitchell and Teddy Hamilton and they drew me into the book!). Cas and his partner for a case, Chandler (who I love and who is the hero for the next book!) team up with Alta, a ranger, to catch someone who is kidnapping women. The story is a rollercoaster ride, as they try to find the killer but also to protect Alta, who becomes a target. I loved how Cas and Alta were the rocks for each other, as they each had a difficult past (Alta's was horrific and as the author notes, there are likely some triggers). The cast was fantastic and I was following along trying to figure out who the kidnapper/killer was. There were twists and turns and overall, just a really great romantic suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat.

I highly recommend the audiobook, by the way. Maxine Mitchell and Teddy Hamilton were awesome, as expected. They played all the different characters so well that I was totally immersed in the story

Exciting! And great narration

Kennedy Mitchell is a new to me author, and one I've just straightaway one-clicked again. I straight up loved her writing, her story and her characters, well, apart from the small fact that Alta was so frustrating. She has issues, she’s scared and she has good reason to be, she does all these security checks, she gets panic attacks, she’s suspicious of everybody, and then she goes running headstrong into danger. It was a little frustrating at times. That said it was a great suspense. I adored Cas, he was the perfect alpha, and who better to narrate tough alpha Cas than Teddy Hamilton, he really does have the sexy authoritarian rumble down pat. Maxine Mitchell was great as Alta I’m giving it five stars because it was a thoroughly enjoyable, entertaining audio. Book 2 here I come.

Book 1 in a series wow what can I say. First one by Kennedy Michelle. But it won’t be my last. . The word building is great. The descriptions of the characters are on point .
This story is full of suspense, mystery and it will make you wonder what next .

Heroine is Birdie , hero is Cass.
Birdie is a park ranger . She gets caught in the mystery of who is killing women , is it a serial killer . Cass comes to the park with his partner Parker , they both are FBI agents.

Kennedy will throw you for a loop with the ending.

Maxine Michelle and Teddy Hamilton were great together. They will bring you into the story . The way they did each character you were able to tell by their tone

A series that will grab your heart
