In 2061 a young scientist invents a time machine to fix a tragedy in his past. But his good intentions turn catastrophic when an early test reveals something unexpected: the end of the world.

A desperate plan is formed: recruit three heroes, ordinary humans capable of extraordinary things, and change the future.

Safa Patel is an elite police officer, on duty when Downing Street comes under terrorist attack. As armed men storm through the breach, she dispatches them all.

'Mad' Harry Madden is a legend of the Second World War. Not only did he complete an impossible mission - to plant charges on a heavily defended submarine base - but he also escaped with his life.

Ben Ryder is just an insurance investigator. But as a young man, he witnessed a gang assaulting a woman and her child. He went to their rescue and killed all five.

Can these three heroes, extracted from their timelines at the point of death, save the world?

Great start to a series that I am hoping keeps giving

Well done all round

Deadly!

Not a fan of time travel type stories but this hooked me from the beginning. It was the performance by the narrator Carl Prekopp that banished my skepticism. I enjoyed it and will be getting the next one. Really good start to the story.

Surprisingly good

I seldom review a book but this one was exceptional and I felt I needed to say so!
It is a “pretend you are not feeling too well so you can go into the other bedroom to listen late into the night” story. A story of friendship, love, determination and so much more.
R R Haywood is a new author to me but he seems a master of his craft.

Fantastic!

What did you like most about Extracted?

Brilliant pacing, great characters, laugh out loud humour (sorry fellow train travellers) and real moments of not wanting this to end.

Any additional comments?

This truly needs making into a movie, although, of course, the movie is never as good as the book :)

Holy Sh1t this needs making into a movie!

First up, Carl Prekopp is a top quality narrator and adds so much to the experience. His characterisations of the protagonists bring them to life in way just reading the novel can't do. 10/10 for his performance.

The story itself is a pretty standard Time Travel effort with a few twists, but the writing is of such a high standard the whole thing seems fresh and new. Best of all it left me wanting more and I will buy the remainder of the trilogy as soon as I've finished writing this. Which is now.

Terrific Time Travel Tale
