Kerry Wilkinson's sensational Jessica Daniel series returns with Behind Closed Doors, as Jessica faces her darkest mystery yet.

Detective Sergeant Jessica Daniel has barely left her house in months, isolated away from friends and colleagues. She may have given up on herself but one man is sure she still has something to offer.

DCI Jack Cole gives her a chance at redemption: An opportunity to help a neighbouring force by discovering what is going on with a reclusive community living in a stately home in the middle of nowhere.

People are going missing, turning up dead with only a vague link back to the house. But can Jessica beat her own demons in time to find out exactly what's going on behind closed doors?

First of all I'm loving the whole series. Highly recommended it. This book is very different to ones before it, but it was excellent. Becky is also a brilliant narrator. As we know, it can make or break it. Must go, need to buy the next one!

Wow, what a read!

A great thrilling story makes your heart race. Love this series and so pleased I have lots more to keep me occupied. The Narrator Beck Hindley is excellent too.

Well I lost my sleep to finish it.

A very enjoyable departure from Jessica Daniels' normal role. Behind Closed Doors puts a vulnerable and very emotional Jess into an undercover role in a 'cult', to investigate a number of people who were missing or dead.
The attempts at indoctrination, the interaction with fellow members and the encounters with the self-obsessed leader actually help to strengthen Jess, revitalising her for the inevitable, but nonetheless very enjoyable and exciting climax, with an unexpected twist.
I did find the flashbacks a little tiresome, but they served a particular function in the development of the story, so you just have to put up with them.
Can't fault Becky Hindley's narration.
