Brought to you by Penguin.

April Lady is read by Tanya Reynolds, star of Sex Education.

Nell Cardross and her husband are madly in love....

But they're very bad at showing it. While Nell believes her new husband, the Earl, married her out of convenience, Giles Cardross worries that his young wife is more interested in his money than his heart.

And Nell's secretive and extravagant spending is becoming a problem....

As she attempts to pay off her brother's never-ending gambling debts and prevent the Earl's half-sister from eloping with a potentially ruinous match, will Nell's heart of gold lead her - and her marriage - into trouble?

Eleştirmen yorumları

"If you haven't read Georgette Heyer yet, what a treat you have in store!" Harriet Evans

"One of my perennial comfort authors. Heyer's books are as incisively witty and quietly subversive as any of Jane Austen's." (Joanne Harris)

There were some good parts in this story, it’s well told and had decent characters and funny bits, but the whole plot seemed exceptionally trivial and pointless - the peril seemed so easy to get out of, and the entire plot revolving around how difficult it was to fix - I’m sure this is in part to demonstrate the immaturity of the heroine, but it just seemed a bit much. Reasonably pleasant listen, but I’ve heard much better from the new Penguin releases, and am now waiting for some of the better ones to come out from Penguin.

Quite fun but not the best

Male protagonist underdeveloped and too few scenes between him Nell, particularly in the first half of the story. Good minor characters, as usual, and satisfactory ending.

My least favourite of Heyer's Regency stories.

Read this book several times. Always love the characters, Georgette Heyer always pitches the characters perfectly. A little concerned that the narrator wasn't put right about some pronunciations, but that aside a great read.

Perfect love story. Loved it

I have a previous version of this audio book but it's hit and miss throughout the story.
As with another listeners review, most of this narration is much better than the previous one and brings out the best in the story

This is best narration of this book so far
