On the brink of chaos, the journey of survival begins.

Landon Gray, a skillful "ferry pilot" who delivers planes to customers has one final drop in Alabama before Christmas. But when an EMP causes the plane he’s in to crash on the remote, snow-covered mountains of North Carolina, he’s rescued by Beth "Bluebird" Sullivan, who claims to have lived off the grid since she was born. Beth brings him back to an isolated cabin to recover while waiting for her father to come back from the nearby town. When he doesn’t return, Beth grows increasingly worried while Landon struggles with being far from home. Discovering what the country has suffered is just the beginning, they must now learn to trust each other in order to survive the extreme elements and dangers of a world without power.

All That Remains is book one in Lone Survivor, a post-apocalyptic EMP thriller series following a group of survivors as they fight to stay alive after an EMP destroys the nation's power supply.

Good story line and enjoyed thebread. but bit unrealistic when a teenager who has never been attacked by a man before is suddenly able to turn commando and murder actual people. also, the narrators voice is so annoying and unnatural, it annoys you throughout the book. The voice over sounds like something used for the reading out of a report. He is t the best narrator to use fie a story, he stops you connecting and making it sound real. oh well. it's still an ok read. I will buy book 2 and see it through.

Good read

Really good flow, great characters and a really engaging storyline.
I really got into this. sometimes the emp genre can be a bit samey... Really strong storyline with another take on the disasters. I think the narrator was really good. easy listening.

I enjoyed the premise.

Landon is a Ferry pilot who does not know how to swim, defend himself and has no survival skills. Even though he regularly drops off rust bucket planes barely making it to their destinations and flies over hinterland, he chose not to learn basic survival skills in case he goes down. He is also scared of bugs and water.

His plane crashes in the wilderness and is rescued by young Beth who manages to drag him back to her cabin. In the midst of an EMP attack she manages to get a doctor to trek all the way to the cabin. Landon has two broken legs. The doctor tells him he has to have surgery or his legs won't heal properly and he will have walking issues for life. Landon doesn't chose surgery because he's scared of drills and he thinks he can heal faster without it. However, Landon manages not only to hike for miles, but fight and all manner of other things he is unlikely to do in real life.
