Wealthy and roguish, Demon Cynster is perfectly content without love. Having witnessed his Cynster brethren driven to their knees by women, he knows all too well what the power of love can do to a man. But he never banked on meeting Felicity Parteger, a luscious, curvy beauty in desperate need of help. Could this tempting woman be the one? Felicity knows he will never pledge her his love - can passion and lust alone suffice? Driving Laurens' tale toward its climax, Simon Prebble's powerful narration takes listeners to a new pinnacle of pleasure.©1999 Savdek Management Proprietory, Ltd. The heroine was very very silly.
What I liked this instalment of the Cynster books was that it wasn’t dominated by intimate scenes, though there were a few. The central plot surrounding a race fixing villain provided the right level of suspense but the details were rather incredulous. It’s also unfathomable that in 1820, a woman could walk into a tavern full of raucous men and book herself a room. A few things don’t add up, but it’s still good for the imagination and I’ll certainly read the next one

Good story line, silly heroine

The heroine is so extremely stupid/ inoccent!!! She is strong/ intelligent and well read, but needs to be taught passion !!!! The testosterone driven male ( equivalent to a testosterone filled ram), will not seduce a inoccent. She believes passion equates love, so a "standoff." Everything he is trying to avoiding; she is pushing towards. Naturally everything is over thrown. Thankfully the main plot survives this twaddle. Typical of this author; she state all the reasons why something couldn't happen, then blows it all up.

Full of Inanities and Inconstanies

I found the heroin truly annoying and insipid and couldn't finish the book which is a shame as I usually love Miss Laurens books! Needed an older woman in the part!
