A sexy stand-alone novel from New York Times and international best-selling author Elle Kennedy.

Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right - I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team.

And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel - I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.

I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend.

For every fake date…he wants a real one.

Which means this bad girl is in big trouble. Nothing good can come from sneaking around with Jake Connelly. My father would kill me, my friends will revolt, and my post-college career is on the line. But while it’s getting harder and harder to resist Jake’s oozing sex appeal and cocky grin, I refuse to fall for him.

That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.

I always enjoy Elle Kennedy books, the story was good, I liked all the ups and downs and the chemistry but I didn't like Hazel's character, very spikey!
Great narration but I do find Teddy Hamilton's voice weird, it sounds better sped up a bit.

Enjoyable listen

some elements were really cute but others were a bit drawn out and kind of irrelevant, like the girls especially, so many side characters that weren't interesting. the narrator for Jake was superb as always! we find out not much about Jake overall, he seemed interesting though! that bracelet was a cute plot point, loved that for him

Ryan Wesley mention!!!!

A couple of things in The Risk kinda bothered me. Hazel for one thing. Like...did she apologise for her behaviour no. Was it forgotten about, mostly yeah. Also Jake definitely didn't grovel enough or see that Hazel played him like a PS2. That being said, I kinda love Brenna and I was invested in the banter and the rivals to lovers situation between Jake and Brenna. The chemistry both in and out of bed was pretty solid but the side characters didn't hit for me.

Not perfect, but a comforting hug

The story was a bit drawn out only to finish very suddenly. But I did fall in love with those two and was rooting for them big time♡

Great chemistry between Jake and Brenna

AMAZING. NO OTHER WORDS NEEDED.
Jake Connelly I love you. And Brenna was such a fun FMC, loved the focus also on her and her dad’s relationship.
