Introducing Peter ‘Bales’ Bailey, Forensic Accountant.

Bales is a forensic accountant who lives in a smart apartment overlooking the River Cam and Midsummer Common in Cambridge. He’s got a great job and money in the bank, and he drives a Jag. Everything is perfect; then one day he meets Katie, a kickboxing personal trainer.

Katie is in trouble with HMRC, and asks for his help. Bales never could resist a damsel in distress, especially one who is so feisty. So he agrees to help her.

This turns out to be a potentially fatal mistake. Normally accustomed to dealing with debits and credits, Bales has his life turned upside down. Thanks to Katie’s feckless brother, Josh, everyone is now involved. And they’re all in danger.
