Summary

The Expansion: Publisher's Pack includes Recon, book one, and Contact, book two.

The universe is expanding, and so is humanity’s reach.

Years after clean energy ended the world’s reliance on fossil fuels, a lull of peace encompasses all of humanity. Some think we should travel to the distant corners of the galaxy; others oppose the idea, thinking that the harnessed singularity reactors are unnatural.

When a terrorist group attacks the Lunar colony, members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force are divided as a result of the incursion.

Years later, Lieutenant Commander Kyle Torres comes face to face with old friends, as he’s thrown into an assignment that could change everything: a reconnaissance mission with huge implications for humanity and science alike.

Another great series

Everything this author does is great. Read the books first and listened to the Audible version as well. Definitely a series to be revisited. Can't wait for the next instalment

A full on Space Opera in the making.

A fantastically written ride populated by well developed characters that just grow and grow as fast as the story outgrows the solar system. If you want a rattling read to keep you interested while you lounge by the pool then this is the book for you. Like Daniels breathes life into each and every one of the players as he always does. Simply excellent.

Outstanding!

What a great story! I feel like I have been transported to a whole world of fantastic sci-fi adventure. I absolutely love the main characters, they all have their different skills, manner and interactions with each other. Spector is brilliant- can't wait to read more about him. I also love that this book has just the right amount of military/sci-fi jargon and detail. It's enough to give you the feel for the story without pages of minutiae making you feel that you need a physics degree to understand it all. Bravo Mr Ford...I eagerly await the next books/publishers pack.

When is the next one coming!

Devoured this in a day. Classic Luke Daniels territory. I was about to rant about it being over too soon when I realised I'd done a 13hr book in a day :(

To the stars

A well written story cannot wait to see how the storyline progresses. I do hope that Audible continue to add the next chapters to our library as I will defiantly purchase it. Give me more.

Robocop meets Starship Troopers

Great story and character development with a well executed journey through time for the characters at the beginning of the book to see where they ended up at the end of the book. Some sci fi bits I didn’t quite follow but that could have been down to my poor attention span and it didn’t get in the way of the story. Great narration- haven’t heard this guy before and will hunt out other books that he has done now.

Excellent story

The story's brilliant but short. At the moment there's only 2 books. It has the potential to be a 7 book series easily. at the end of book 2 the story in my opinion starts to get better. We need to get more books in the story.

A great beginning to a promising series!

Luke Daniels (amazing) provides a great narrative to this 'space navy/ military science fiction' series. I hope the next 2 books show up on Audible soon.

A good Tale!

I enjoyed the story, I know other reviews have been less generous but to each their own. Plenty of action to keep the story moving and the premise of the story is genuine. Character development is a little thin but as the story continues I am sure That Mr. Ford will dedicate some time to it. I am looking forward to the next in the series and I will buy it when it comes out. I like Luke Daniels as a narrator and enjoy the depth he adds to a story. Not at all a waste of a credit but a story that I will revisit from time to time.

Good story and nicely developed characters

Luke Daniels is simply an amazing performer! Good story with decent science. Always enjoy a good attempt at explaining faster than light travel. I'm not a big military story fan, but I enjoyed this one.

Story was ok

Decent story, hard to visualize. Author didn’t research milt and milt tank structure. It’s not master petty officer, it’s master chief. And petty off class 1, it’s 1st class. Story and effort was half ass. Rest of my books are milt type. This one was just blah

Hard To Follow

At points I found this story very hard to follow. Characters were flung in with little explanation and the reason for the rescue fleet's dispatch in Book 2 felt confused. I couldnt understand it's purpose for launching: assistance or arresting Torres' ship. The lengthy explanation giving the background for the four essential characters was somewhat boring and unnecessary in Book 1. Maybe Specter needed that background, but the rest of the Mustangs/FasTrack team seemed unlikely and confused. Four people and everyone succeeded in amazing ways because ... they participated in stopping a bomb from detonating? It wasn't a horrible story and I liked the alien interaction, but even that was confused and muddled. Who were the bad guys? Not going to continue this story unfortunately.

Narration was distracing

Good story, but narration performance ruined it for me. Accents are an art form that make or break it.
