Summary

The Expansion: Publisher's Pack includes Recon, book one, and Contact, book two.

The universe is expanding, and so is humanity’s reach.

Years after clean energy ended the world’s reliance on fossil fuels, a lull of peace encompasses all of humanity. Some think we should travel to the distant corners of the galaxy; others oppose the idea, thinking that the harnessed singularity reactors are unnatural.

When a terrorist group attacks the Lunar colony, members of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force are divided as a result of the incursion.

Years later, Lieutenant Commander Kyle Torres comes face to face with old friends, as he’s thrown into an assignment that could change everything: a reconnaissance mission with huge implications for humanity and science alike.

A full on Space Opera in the making.

A fantastically written ride populated by well developed characters that just grow and grow as fast as the story outgrows the solar system.
If you want a rattling read to keep you interested while you lounge by the pool then this is the book for you.
Like Daniels breathes life into each and every one of the players as he always does.
Simply excellent.

Outstanding!

What a great story! I feel like I have been transported to a whole world of fantastic sci-fi adventure.
I absolutely love the main characters, they all have their different skills, manner and interactions with each other. Spector is brilliant- can't wait to read more about him.
I also love that this book has just the right amount of military/sci-fi jargon and detail. It's enough to give you the feel for the story without pages of minutiae making you feel that you need a physics degree to understand it all.
Bravo Mr Ford...I eagerly await the next books/publishers pack.

When is the next one coming!

Devoured this in a day. Classic Luke Daniels territory. I was about to rant about it being over too soon when I realised I'd done a 13hr book in a day :(

Another great series

Everything this author does is great. Read the books first and listened to the Audible version as well. Definitely a series to be revisited. Can't wait for the next instalment

Nothing happens

half way through and nothing has happened,
Didn't finish the book it got too painfully dull,
the narrator was fantastic and that was the only thing that kept me interested for 8 hours,
but i don't recommend.

To the stars

A well written story cannot wait to see how the storyline progresses. I do hope that Audible continue to add the next chapters to our library as I will defiantly purchase it. Give me more.

Enjoyable

I listen to a ton of Sci Fi, found this series enjoyable, look forward to its next chapters, Luke Daniels is great, I’m no critic but I know what I like and was happy with spending a credit on this, and will definitely give the next installment a shot

Story was ok

Decent story, hard to visualize.
Author didn’t research milt and milt tank structure.
It’s not master petty officer, it’s master chief.
And petty off class 1, it’s 1st class.
Story and effort was half ass. Rest of my books are milt type. This one was just blah

Hard To Follow

At points I found this story very hard to follow. Characters were flung in with little explanation and the reason for the rescue fleet's dispatch in Book 2 felt confused. I couldnt understand it's purpose for launching: assistance or arresting Torres' ship.

The lengthy explanation giving the background for the four essential characters was somewhat boring and unnecessary in Book 1. Maybe Specter needed that background, but the rest of the Mustangs/FasTrack team seemed unlikely and confused. Four people and everyone succeeded in amazing ways because ... they participated in stopping a bomb from detonating?

It wasn't a horrible story and I liked the alien interaction, but even that was confused and muddled. Who were the bad guys?

Not going to continue this story unfortunately.

Good story and nicely developed characters

Luke Daniels is simply an amazing performer! Good story with decent science. Always enjoy a good attempt at explaining faster than light travel. I'm not a big military story fan, but I enjoyed this one.

Good, Not Great

Similar to but not as good as Galaxy's Edge or Expeditionary Force. The author clearly has no military experience or exposure to military or apparently even highly trained professional people. As a result, the conversations of people in places such as the bridge of a ship or on missions is unbelievable (questioning of basic orders such as "set a course", chatter, talking back to upper ranks and even the Captain of a ship).

But its still a good story line and has a few small surprises and twists. I listened to Books 1 & 2 (audible). I will buy book 3 when it comes out.

Slow and hard to get into.

The story seems to have a strange disconnect in the middle from normal human conflict to a strange alien encounter. I even listened to it a second time and still couldn't get into it. I wanted to love it but, couldn't.

Loved these books 💕

I really enjoyed the premise of these books and the character’s development. It was easy to become invested in their journey and take the trip with them. Looking forward to seeing what comes next for our race.
