Summary

Between his studies at the Varle Academy for Gifted Mages and his duties to the monster-response team, Gryff will find himself fighting not just monsters, but bandits, thugs, and a local street gang as well.

But hey, no one ever said becoming the world’s greatest summoner while also juggling three hot girlfriends would be easy. Especially when you add a fourth girl to the mix....

ughhh

This was a stunning example of a sexually repressed writer. This book was nothing more than a continuous stream of sexual encounters. The female characters have been written as nothing more than filler for this purpose.

I have the second book a try hoping it would be better than the first. this wasn't the case. I won't be purchasing another book by this writer, let alone another book in this series.

that main character really annoys me

A slight change from the first book as this one is a more slice of life adventure as we get to know more about the other characters. I find that main character annoying though with his attitude and expectations in life as well as feeling no guilt about the girls he is with.

To much sex

The writer is to focused on sex all the time. It takes away from the story!

Mixed feelings...

I do enjoy the story presented and was genuinely curious as to where it could lead. It's a very interesting take on magical segregation... BUT the sheer amount of sex scenes make me want to simply throw the book aside for literally any other book. A meaningful sex scene is one thing but a sex scene for the sake of a sex scene is... For lack of a better term... Very annoying and a waste of time. On top of that there are about 20 of them, making the one that could be meaningful, absolutely meaningless...

good read for during other activities

it's a pretty good but either the author is a virgin or inexperienced with women or was intentionally vague the sex scenes lack any kind of real world accuracy or subscription author does have better works so I'm guessing early work and little experience lol it happens next time it would be better to leave them out it's like listening to a virgin tell you about his imaginary girlfriend in another state or some crap story line is ok tho not as good as succubus Lord some of the aforementioned later better work but it is suitable for listening while doing other things throughout the day I'd say it's worth the buy just for the length of the series I go through books like bullets so it's nice to have long series

Same problems as the first and then some

The laundry list explanations continue in the sequel. I wanted to give the second book a try because I like the premise but it fell flat. the ending was also rather abrupt without anything seemingly been accomplished.

Kind of dissatisfied with this second run.

Not sure how this was an entire story. I like the characters, and it's fun to hear them just going through the motions. However, there isn't a hell of a lot going on. Awesome stuff happens hear and there, with some nice sex scenes sprinkled in. I liked the first one, but I was blown away when I heard it was over. Look forward to seeing what shakes out in the next run.
Cheers

Like eating Taco Bell for lunch AND dinner

I listened to this right after the first one so when I say taco bell for lunch and dinner what I mean is this one is just as cheesy and deliciously bad as the first one.

Gryf is still running around being unbeatable, talented in every way, and banging almost every girl he meets. I love it, you'll love it, America loves it. I laughed at how silly the writing was and Gryf's interactions with his many ladies, I would not say any of it was...sexy so much as eye rolling. I mentioned in the first book that I was hoping that a character written to be hot, talented and super charming would also convince the reader that he was these things...because aside from some very basic compliments and cliché flirting I would not consider him as irresistible as his harem seems to.

I also have an issue with the way the sex scenes are written, I don't mind that they aren't romance novel level of explicit but as I said in my last review...Gryf has the same techniques with every lady, he does the same moves and gets the same responses and it doesn't make any of them stand out. I was also a bit bummed by his scene with Nia, he seems to genuinely care about her feelings and status and when they finally take the next step it wasn't any different...if you are going to make Nia special to Grfy then make their love scene different too. Also he apparently has a threesome with his ladies but its not explicitly stated...they were drunk and woke up naked together, why was that left out! Come on! This is a mature novel so let us get the threesome details!?

I also found most of the book to be a bit boring. The beginning had good action but the rest of it was ehhhh not interesting to me really. There was decent character development but it was just a bit boring to sit through. I still liked it and hope the third one comes to audible soon!

I'm not sorry I listened to it

once again, not a very inspired story. However, it's not bad by any stretch. The story is very simple and easy to follow, and I'll be it that the plot points can be very predictable at some points. But that can be a good thing especially if you are like me and listen to books while doing chores or cooking dinner. You can still perfectly understand the story while distracted doing other things. 4 out of 5, would recommend.

Summoner 2

Ok. It is a little to much to keep up with. To much out of this world.

Not bad, but not much content

you know how in Harry Potter each book is a full year/grade? Well. This one is basically a spring break. A filler episode. when they got back from their break/trip I was ready for the real story to begin. ... but it was over. Definitely less impressed with this one than I was with the first.
