BUY THIS VERSION

I had been keen to listen to Redwall for some time but was put off by having to buy three short books for one completed story arc on Audible, until now.

This is the first 3 books of Redwall - a full story arc in one unabridged package and I absolutely loved it.

The narration/performance was of a very high standard and enjoyable listening.

The story itself is memorable with some really clever and fun moments and the characters were really full of life and brought the whole book together.

Good Story, Poor choice of narrator

I love the story, but I can't get past the narrator, He just didn't fit the story with his style and didn't bring the characters to life in a way that I could enjoy. Returned.

A all-time great ruinedby narrator?

very simple this is where you start with redwall but thr narrator ...he finds it hads to get the words out of his mouth and does not have much range and even then voices he choses are then not consistently gone back too they really need to redo just this one especially as its the first book, the entry point.

don't worry tho just go straight to the next book that has a great narrator and is my personal favorite out-of all of them .

if you do want to listen to the first redwall book don't use this one but buy the original studio recording where Brian himself is the narrator and has actors for thr voice of the characters.

a real pity they started this set with such a poorly chosen narrator.

bit it is,what it is.

hope you end up up loving redwall as much as I do.

Glorious "tail" but cringe worthy voice acting.

What a wonderful story but unfortunate accent choices and poorly executed. Still, bearable and worth it for the beautiful tale.

pick an accent......

Revisiting Redwall after reading many years ago and enjoying it. Of course the tale is unchanged but the performance is rendering this version almost unlistenable! Pauses in the wrong places, but far and away worse, the characters accents keep changing!!!!

A wonderful story. But …..

The story is as I remember. But the narrator kept going into an American accent for the rat . Which slightly spoilt it but in the whole it was better than the old individual titles. But please no American accent

Great story, terribly read.

I loved the story which should have been a warm tale of a kindly community of creatures who face great peril and adventure. Unfortunately, it was not read as such. The accents and intonations are awful, making the story come across as cold and hard. The reader ends sentences in the wrong place and didn't appear to know what he would be reading next. This is the only audible book I have ever considered stopping half way through because I didn't want the story ruined for me.
