About this listen

Van left his old life behind, but some things remain the same. Even in space, crime still exists.

After taking a Peacemaker job to find missing fuel, Perry finds something far more sinister than simple theft - a voice, crying out in a forge of heat and flame, and the discovery reveals a series of acts so vicious that nothing short of revenge will suffice. Following leads across the stars, Van, Perry, and Torina discover the wealthy elite are doing more than just taking fuel.

They're stealing lives. But it takes money to make justice, and Van has to work. Torina's land must be restored, and the Dragonet needs new armor, and Van's sword isn't going to sharpen itself. So Van throws himself into the life of a Peacemaker, where he discovers that doing his job - and doing it well - makes him a target. He's got the will. He's got the sword. And he's got help. Now all he needs is a little fuel. And maybe a gun or two.

Can’t understand the negativity about the narrator’s performance- it’s classy without being OTT and adds depth and nuance. Some narrator’s can be toe-curlingly embarrassing.

The story is exactly what you’d expect- it’s not hard sci-fi nor filled with existential debate over the nature of sentience, However it IS a funny rip-roaring adventure with good action and brilliantly drawn characters.
I love it and have already bought Book 3! Bring it on!
Oh and the deadpan AI of Perry (who owes much to Brian from Family Guy) is fantastic!

Love this series

one of the best sci-fi series out there.
Perry and netty are the best dynamic duo to ever exist the mechanical bird shouldn't have to deal with being threatened to be put in the compactor he is the protagonist.

only 9h it's just not enough

Good story

I am happy to report that I’ve had myself laugh out loud in front of people due to those one-liners. I am also happy to report that even though the adventures were kind of expected, I am so happy they were not overly dramatic and for blown as forgone conclusion. I am sorry there was not more personal character building but what can I say? The series is still young. I am a fan of the Bobiverse, the Expeditionary force and the Shadow Master series. It is a good port of call till the next ones. Did I mention the LOLs? Enjoy.

Expected Adventures - Unexpected actual LOLs
