About this listen

When the body of a young man is found stuffed into the tomb of a medieval knight, Parish Constable Daniel Haze is tasked with investigating his first solo murder case. Suspicion instantly falls on the only stranger to arrive in the village of Birch Hill just before the crime took place, but the American captain proves to be an unexpected asset. A former soldier and a skilled surgeon, Jason Redmond is not only willing to assist Haze with the investigation but will risk his own safety to apprehend the killer.

With no suspects, no motive, and few leads to follow, Redmond and Haze must solve the crime before one of them becomes the murderer’s next victim.

Murder in the Crypt is the exciting first installment of this Victorian murder mystery series set in a quaint British village.

I gave this a proper try but I cannot get past the terrible accents. Narration is largely monotone with character voices hard to listen to.
I'm sure the story is brilliant but I just couldn't follow it

Not Great

"Murder in the Crypt" is a light and very enjoyable murder mystery. I'm looking forward to reading more books in the series.

Enjoyable.

For some unknown reason I didn't think I would like this story but it very quickly drew me in. I found myself frustrated when I had to turn it off. An intriguing story. The American Civil War gave it an added depth. I am assuming from this one story more will follow incorporating the main characters, I am looking forward to finding them. I recommend the story as an interesting who dunnit.

Interesting who dunnit & glimpses of US Civil War

New series for me and it’s very good !
I read the introduction book first where you get the background
to the new Earl …..then the series opens up to a collaboration between
him and the local Constable . Love a new series to follow !

Very Enjoyable
