Hilary Green is a great character. The persistent references to her appearance are a mild irritant compared to the narration. The lapses of pronunciation are so unexpected that I am almost convinced the narrator is computer generated.
The stories are good enough to hold my attention but I couldn’t recommend the series to another.

I really enjoyed the plot and the storyline. Faith Martin has developed strong character in DI Hillary Green and produces a great plot. This was no exception!
Sadly, Gemma Dawson has made some errors in her pronunciation, which has not always been picked up by the editors.
One example - she read the word 'dead' as 'deed' as in 'He would not wish his landlord deed'! It sounded very strange! Then, only a couple of sentences later, it was followed by another mis-read word!

The accents are weird and some of the pronunciations of words are bizarre, but overall the narration is fine. The story itself is good.

I have listened to quite a few of Faith Martin’s books and enjoyed them. The D.I. Hilary Green stories I have particularly enjoyed. The characters are very well written and full of interesting quirks etc., the only problem that spoilt my enjoyment was the narration, the mispronunciation was so noticeable on many occasions I am still at a loss as to why this is not checked, it’s such a shame.

Another good story.
