About this listen

When a man’s naked corpse is found strapped to a waterwheel, newly appointed Inspector Haze is called upon to investigate the crime. With the help of American surgeon Captain Redmond, he delves into the life of Frank Darrow, a man who inspired such hatred, his mere death wasn’t enough to satisfy his killer.

Finding few clues and no obvious motive for the murder, Redmond and Haze must peel away the layers of Frank Darrow’s relationships to get to the shocking truth, while also coming to terms with unexpected developments in their own lives.

Perfect for fans of C.S. Harris and Anne Perry.

I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series but this time the sordid and depressing crime perpetrated left me feeling very downhearted. I hope the next one is better. I agree there are lots of mistakes in the historical research but the stories are generally entertaining.

Irina Shapiro presents another relaxing and enjoyable murder mystery in the Redmond and Haze Mysteries series. My only complaint is that, so far, all three books in the series have been painfully predictable.

Too predictable.

Loved it all, love all the characters and the relationship between Jason and Daniel. Lots of twists and turns.

Fabulous Story

Characters are we rounded & likeable. criminals are proper nasties, stories flow brilliantly & always satisfy. Only complaint is there aren't more than the 4 already on here!

I adore this series!
