Over 1 million Discworld audiobooks sold – discover the extraordinary universe of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld like never before.

The audiobook of Hogfather is narrated by the BAFTA award-winning actor Sian Clifford (Fleabag, Vanity Fair, Quiz). BAFTA and Golden Globe award-winning actor Bill Nighy (Love Actually; Pirates of the Caribbean; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) reads the footnotes, and Peter Serafinowicz (Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace; Shaun of the Dead) stars as the voice of Death. Featuring a new theme tune composed by James Hannigan.

Twas the night before Hogswatch and all through the house...something was missing.

The stockings are hanging ready, the sherry and pies are waiting by the fireplace - but where is the jolly fat man with his sack? It's not right to find Death creeping down chimneys and trying to say 'Ho ho ho' - but someone's got to bring the little kiddies their presents. Or else they might stop believing. Belief is important in Discworld, particularly on the last night of the year when the time is turning. If the real man in the red suit isn't found by morning, there won't be a morning. Ever again...

A festive feast of darkness, jolly robins and tinsel. As they say: 'You'd better watch out...'

Hogfather is the fourth book in the Death series, but you can listen to the Discworld novels in any order.

The first book in the Discworld series - The Colour of Magic - was published in 1983. Some elements of the Discworld universe may reflect this.

'Has the energy of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the inventiveness of Alice in Wonderland...It has also an intelligent wit and a truly original grim and comic grasp of the nature of things'
'Our best comic novelist'
I'm addicted to Terry Pratchett'

Fantastic narration, great audio adaptation of an amazing story by a wonderful, much missed author. #GNUTerryPratchett

My gripes are audio related - inconsistent volume, and sadly Bill Nighys footnote readings are especially quiet, requiring pausing, going back and upping the volume.

Fabulous adaptation with audio niggles

Sian is a great reader, does a wonderful Ridcully and a perfect Susan. As a story its still super fun. The footnotes are a bit jarring though.

Wonderful new version

I can only imagine that everyone that doesn’t like this audiobook is a fan of the previous and scratchy recordings of it. They hate change and there fore anything new is bad. Don’t listen to them. The narrators do a fabulous job of telling this story! I love every minute and cannot wait for the next in the series

Fabulous

I've been reading Terry Pratchett for years but recently got into audiobooks - when I saw this new edition advertised of The Hogfather I purchased it to listen to over the Christmas holidays. I loved Sian Clifford's narration and found the book easy to listen to. I was surprised that it has received so many negative reviews, however a couple of points: I tend to listen to audiobooks in the car or via speaker, not through headphones and did not notice any volume problems. I had also never listened to previous Terry Pratchett audiobooks so did not have any character voices already in my mind. Overall I found this a really enjoyable listen and will be purchasing the new aduiobooks as they come out over the next couple of years.

Loved listening to this over Christmas.
