About this listen

Team Weird is back causing havoc in the Time Police in this irresistible spin-off series by international best seller Jodi Taylor, author of the Chronicles of St Mary's. If you love Doctor Who, Ben Aaronovitch and Jasper Fforde, you'll love the Time Police.

The Time Police do not have problems. They have challenges.

Idiots who want to change history have always proved 'challenging'. But now temporal tourism is on the rise - highly illegal but highly lucrative. If you're prepared to take the risk.

To face down this threat the Time Police will despatch their toughest undercover agents. Which is fine until the unthinkable happens. Replacements are needed fast, and who better than three young officers who don't even look the part?

Step forward Jane, Luke and Matthew. They may be about to graduate, but there's still plenty of time for everything to go wrong. Throw in the Versailles time slip, a covert jump to ancient Egypt and a race against time itself and you've got yourself an assignment worthy of Team Weird.

Jodi Taylor has an amazing talent for bringing characters to life and hilariously relatable humour. The rampant rabbit and fire trucking off, stay in my head ( we have an accidentally house rabbit with a serious attitude problem) and yes I do get the other pleasant more reference. Angus the chicken is also on my giggle scale, mine was Maggie, who ran off down the garden with a lighted fag in her beak, literally sneaked silently into the house until caught out by the pecking noise in the cat food and almost got herself stewed when she actually nicked the beautifully home made burger out of your man's bun with that hilarious naughty chicken run. (accidental belligerent destructive house bunny and no longer hilarious chickens were the result of rescue attempts and fox attacks. Bunny is looking more and more attractive with onions and gravy as another cable bites the dust (aka fizzy hay) I digress, but jodi taylor nails the madness starts with f and ends in uck. I look forward to Matthew's character evolving. Love Luke because I know, "him" narcissistic, self absorbed..... I'm half way between Max and Jane and rather liking Imogen..Dont even get me started in the joy that is Markham. So much fun and adventure in these books and so much from just getting the characters . No animals were stewed, fried or baked in this comment. But I seriously need to get the bunny a boyfriend and stop the cable eating and hopefully fox proof befofe more chickens. Keeping a wicked sense of humour is almost in-line with the Ypres Times level and bless yo Jodi you are keeping me sniggering through working (and many don't have even have that luxury, - including my children) from home and sick of my own company. I missed world mental health day to suggest the giggles from your books, but for firetruck how did the appalling 50 shades of make a bestseller list

Ever hilarious, wicked and brought to life 7th

Bit of a slow start and the characters grow on you, love Zara’s narration as always. And as I’m a big fan of Jodi and her stories I can’t wait for the next instalments of either TP or st Mary’s.

Overall I enjoyed it

How does she do it? She’s got us behind the Time Police who we were sworn to hate for all time and yet now we are rooting for them!
