This first 3 book collection is an OK listen, it's enough to keep you interested in what is going on without being what I would call edge of the seat listening. The narration is pretty good although I can't say I'm a fan of Johnny Peppers voice but that is just a personal thing.

Being a big fan of the Tori Hunter series I gave Mac a go and wasn’t disappointed. 👍

Three reasonably good books and I’ve enjoyed them BUT the narrator is appalling. He has no intonation in his voice and his changing from character to character was poor. Most of the time I felt I was being lectured to. If you can put up with this, get the package.

It is not really fair to judge on such a short listen but there does seem to be something wrong with the way this is marketed. I bought it because it said it was the First Deadly Conspiracy and I started with Book 1. But there was so much back story in the first 30 minutes that I assume there are several books before this one. I also didn't like the writing style for a reason I can't put my finger on.

I was expecting so much more from these books than I got. Mediocre writing, typical sexist viewpoints concerning women (yawn)
Weak characters with no diversity or interesting features. The main protagonist is written as an intelligent man, but I'm waiting to see why.
At first, I was thinking that this series was a letdown as it was written in 2013, but I've read plenty of other works from the same time or earlier, which I enjoyed. Luckily, I got a free book in exchange for an honest review. I wouldn't read anything else from this author!
