Summary

In the third book of the Bluegrass Series, Paige Davies finds her world turned upside down as she becomes involved in her best friends' nightmare. The strong-willed Paige doesn't know which is worse: someone trying to kill her, or losing her dog to the man she loves to hate.

FBI Agent Cole Parker can't decide whether he should strangle or kiss this infuriating woman of his dreams. As he works the case of his career, he finds that love can be tougher than bringing down some of the most powerful men in America.

A suitable ending

Welcome back to all the familiar characters, some new and unexpected twists and of course the conclusion to the terrifying threat hanging over these beautiful and brave women. And welcome back to Eric G Dove who has, yet again, wonderfully captured the characters of this small town.
All the terror and tension was neatly tidied up and readers can feel sad at the thought of the end of this series but at the same time, happy that Brooks has already planted the seeds for the next series.
Brooks has definitely made it to my MUST HAVE list. In fact, I have already got the first two books of the next Bluegrass series waiting in my library!

A fantastic read

Would you consider the audio edition of Dead Heat to be better than the print version?

I loved when Page and cole finely get together.

What does Eric G. Dove bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

Eric G Dove helps put a voice to the characters

I'm not sure the book moved me but I did enjoy it .

Dead Heat

I loved that this series ended with Paige & Cole. I kinda hoped it would be Mo’s bodyguard but you never know he might get his book yet.

I love that Paige has all these brothers and Cole was the first to not be scared off by them or by Paige, I say that because she is a tomboy in a lot of ways and a total girly girl in others.

I think I loved that Cole was always there for Paige even when she thought it was all for a show for him it never was.

Again this town is fantastic. I love the blue hairs. I love the friendship the 3 girls have.

It's just a sweet romance with a kick.

And again Eric G. Dove kills this narration; he totally brings this whole series to life. Loved it.

Another Heart Pounding Hit

What a neat series! My head wanted to spin when I saw these last two book's in the coming soon list. I jumped on them both and put them in my wish list. What a great way to end this particular story by using the main character's of Page and Cole in this episode. I have already listen to them multiple times. I will now be requesting the "Bluegrass Brother's" series. Which continues with Page's 5 brother's. Let's hope Audible will be able to get them for us.

Not amazing

Let me first concede that I listen to a lot of books. If this was one of the first books I listened to, I may have rated it higher. I didn't feel any real chemistry between the two main characters and found the story to be very predictable.

Very good book and narration

This is the final book in this series that wraps up all the story lines. I love the writing, the characters, the suspense, the setting, and the fun. The narration is good. Very enjoyable.

Wonderful Series

Read in order to get the gradually building tension of this crime and romance series. Corrupt judges, lawyers, special agent and legislators. Hero cowboy, prince and FBI agent. Strong women, Southern women, old maids and matriarchs. All the things that make Kentucky a wonderful place to live. Great performance and story. Recommend Series.

Looove this series

This is My go to feel good series. This one has to be read after the first two ones in the series. It’s a very emotional ride in the beginning.
Eric G Dove is a perfect narrator for this series.
