About this listen

Ben Turner is besotted with the handsome older man who’s always in his bakery. They have nothing in common...until one day Ben discovers he's an overnight millionaire, and his customer could become his protector. But they hardly know each other. He'd be crazy to accept his help, right?

Lawyer Elias Solomon knows his crush on the beautiful young baker is ridiculous, but when he suspects Ben is being taken advantage of, he can't help but step in. Elias' upcoming 40th birthday has made him adventurous, but he never imagined he'd accompany Ben all the way to England.

Ben has never even heard of his great-grandmother Nancy, his corrupt and bitter English family, their enormous home and orchard grounds, or the business they run from it. All of which he now apparently owns. It's up to Ben to save the estate with Elias' help, but does he want the responsibility? All he really wants is to fall into Elias' bed and never leave, and soon the chemistry is too much to ignore. Elias can't see how they'll make it work when they're from different generations. But when old rivalries take a dangerous turn, he soon realizes he'll do anything to keep Ben safe from harm...and in his arms.

Book Four of Pine Cove. Bright Horizon is a steamy, standalone MM romance novel with a guaranteed HEA and absolutely no cliffhanger.

This is the fourth book in the Pine Cove series and was my absolute favourite, it can also be read as a stand-alone.
I loved the journey both across the ocean to England and, Ben and Elias made in their relationship from secret admirers from afar to tentative friends to lovers.
In the story there are is an unexpected inheritance, family deception and past heartache.
The characters were well written, although being British myself, I thought a couple of the English characters were more like caricatures. I have never seen anyone wear a monocle 🧐 and wave around a rifle with a bayonet on it, but then again I’m from the North of England lol 😂 but still I loved it all the same it gave it a very Agatha Christie feel.
A wonderful addition to the series 5 stars 🌟 all round.

I loved everything about this book, from HJ Welch’s wonderful writing style to the characters and storylines she created to the perfectly casted narration. The story drew me right in, grabbed my attention and captivated it the entire book. The characters are realistic and well developed, they are easy to relate to and connect with. I adored the two lead characters, Ben Turner and Elias Solomon, Ben works in a bakery and he has taken interest in Elias, a nice looking older man. While at work Ben gets approached by a rude solicitor with some unexpected news, Elias was present at the time and stepped in to help him and offered his services as an attorney. Ben, a bit awkward and shy is grateful to have his help and when Ben extends the offer to take him to England to handle matters he is more than thrilled. He sets off to find his long lost family and see what his inheritance is all about, he is confronted with hostile family members and some quirky servants who were fond of his late Great Aunt Nancy. A lot goes on in this book and there is never a dull moment, the story is cleverly plotted with plenty of drama, both family and relationship, angst, a bit of a mystery trying to figure out who is who in that family, foe or ally, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments and the start to a great friendship and hot romance. I loved how much Ben grew as a person by the end of the book, also loved how patient Elias was with him and how understanding Ben about his health. Thank you HJ Welch for this enjoyable and entertaining novel, I loved every word.

🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Nick J. Russo is a talented narrator and versatile voice artist. He brings these characters to life, giving each their own distinct voice making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He does an awesome job portraying the characters, grasping each persona, taking the role, playing it with perfection and making it believable. He sets the perfect tone for the story, captures all the character’s emotions and projects them into his performance. He is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen!

Thanks to HJ Welch for my free copy of this audiobook.
I've read the ebook of Bright Horizon before so I already know it's good but I've got to admit, Nick J Russo's fabulous narration takes it to a whole new level. His voice is deliciously hypnotic and I was hanging on every word!

Brilliant

A mysterious, unexpected inheritance has young, inexperienced Ben hopping across the pond.
He literally stumbles into an amazing offer of help from Elias, an older attorney.
What they find when they arrive is a horribly snooty family branch hellbent on keeping every pound in their greedy little paws.
These men were so sweet together, neither one of them actually believing they were worthy of the other's love due to insecurities.
Nick J. Russo did a fabulous job of bringing the story to life.
