Ever since Jay Coal’s best friend saved his life in high school, he’s harbored a secret love. But Angel is straight, and his thrilling work as a movie stuntman takes him all over the world, while Jay has never left Pine Cove. When Angel finally comes back to town, a suspicious work accident leaves him in the dark, and only Jay can light the way.

It’s a second chance for Angel Shields. Trustworthy Jay helps him recover from the accident, and Angel starts to see him in a different light. But are these feelings of attraction new? Or has he always had a secret crush on his best friend? Thanks to the accident, Angel can’t trust his own memories to tell him. Maybe all that matters is how he feels now?

Their life-long friendship is at risk if they make a move, but this chemistry is unforgettable. With more dangers ahead than answers, will they even get the chance to explore this love that’s waiting for them down the end of memory lane?

Book five of Pine Cove, Memory Lane is a steamy, stand-alone MM romance novel with a guaranteed HEA and absolutely no cliff-hanger.

Jay has been in love with his best friend Angel for so long. It’s totally unrequited as Angel is straight. And then Angel comes back to Pine Cove and loses his memory in an accident, and his true feelings come to the surface it becomes a beautiful second chance for Jay. Lovely and sweet romance! A bit of suspense included. Awesome narration by Mr Russo.

I enjoyed a lot when my favorite books are read by one of my favorite narrators, and this book is a great example. This series is one of my favorite of Ms Welch and every single new installment is a must have for me. I loved everything in the story, Angel and Jay's past history as friends made their reunion more emotional specially for the circumstances. The plot is captivating, the characters endearing and cute while finding a future they didn't expect. Regarding the narration, Mr Russo as always, made an outstanding job, with a dynamic performance, that flew smoothly, ensuring a very entertaining narration. His charismatic voice complemented perfectly his acting skills, making all the emotional scenes even better. A wonderful addition to the series!

A dedicated book for Jay Coal (Robin’s twin) was a long time coming, and it doesn’t disappoint! For me it was a sure thing, knowing that I’d find some of my favorite tropes: best friends to lovers, bisexual awakening, hurt/comfort and second chance, all rolled into a fantastic, compelling story with appearances by many of my favorite Pine Cove denizens (the book can either stand alone or be read in series order). Jay had done a fair bit of pining in Pine Cove, and having Angel back in his space was the balm he needed. Heat factor is high, feels even higher! A HEA is a guarantee with a Pine Cove story, and Nick J Russo delivers with the narration, as always.

Memory loss, old friends and new love

I really enjoyed this very sweet best friends to lovers romance. This is a bit of a slow burn as Jay and Angel both believe Angel is straight and always has been. It takes an accident and a little amnesia for Angel to start seeing Jay with new eyes and realize what is right in front of him. I appreciated the slow development of Angel's sexual awareness, as well as Jay working through his own feelings of inadequacy compared to Angel's ex. I also really liked that when Jay blew off Angels' coming out as just him supporting Jay and the LGBT students, they didn't let it sit and fester, but talked it out. The story felt pretty low-angst to me, except for right near the end, but there is a near-fatal car crash, short-term memory loss, homophobic protests, and a bomb threat. Be aware if any of these will distress you. There is some suspense and drama from the protesters and a nasty ex. but everything works out at the end . This is a great addition to the series, but also works just fine as a standalone.

The narration by Nick Russo is fantastic. I especially love his voicing of Emory. All the characters had distinct and easily recognizable voices. The delivery and pacing were perfect.

I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Lovely best friends to lovers romance, Jay and Angel have fated mates written all over them. They were always there for each other growing up and when back in the same town together nothing has changed.

A well written book with some intense moments and a very satisfying HEA, great listen.
