A fresh start. That's what Becca hoped the move from New York to Redemption, Wisconsin would be for her troubled family. A way to get her crumbling marriage back on track, and to bond with her difficult 16-year-old stepdaughter.

But instead of a new beginning, Becca is thrust into a mysterious past she barely remembers. A past that includes the complications of interacting with her old teenage crush, Daniel, as well as living in her aunt's old house.

A house with a violent past. A house the locals swear is haunted.

But there's no such thing as ghosts. Right?

So, could there be something even more sinister out to destroy them?

And can Becca discover the truth before it’s too late?

Includes a special note from the author, plus "The Secret Diary of Helen Blackstone", a bonus story in the Secrets of Redemption series.

I managed to stick with it to the end, but it’s probably twice as long as it needed to be, and at times quite boring, that said if you can stick with it the story is OK

Too long and slow but an OK story

Paranormal is not a genre I would usually chose but I'm a fan of January Lavoys narration so was willing to give it a go. Paranormal element was very eye rolly for me but putting that aside - good character and decent writing, altho lost its pace about 2/3 of the way in but picked up. Impressive narration. Worth a listen as it was included in my subscription and I'll watch for the next in the series to come up on special offer but it's not changed my mind on the genre.

Narration lifts decent paranormal thriller

I only made it to chapter 9 before I found myself zoning out in boredom.
Repetitive, dry dialogue drawing out an already dull plot. Maybe if I had of been more patient a good story might have revealed itself, but the whole point in listening to an audiobook is to relax, and not to raise someone's blood pressure in annoyance! Even January couldn't redeem this book for me!
